Kuranda
Visitors Information Centre
This unique village in the rainforest is
worth a day trip for it's amazing streetscapes and market-style
shopping. Plus it's the Tableland terminus for both Skyrail
and Kuranda railway, both world-class attractions.
Malanda
Falls Visitor Information Centre
Pretty Malanda is the home of the Tableland's
dairy industry, with an excellent museum, a still-working
original 1920s cinema, unique swimming pool set in the rainforest
stream, rainforest walking tracks, plus unique shopping.
Mareeba
Heritage Museum and Tourist Information Centre
Mareeba, with it's dryer and western-country
feel, is totally different to all the other Tableland towns,
with it's own unique flavour centering around excellent wines
and coffees.
Ravenshoe
Visitor Information Centre
Ravenshoe is a historic timber town on the
high southern end of the Tablelands, with a relaxed and quiet
backwoods feel, an excellent information centre, arts &
crafts, art galleries. On the way, visit Mt Hypipamee Crater,
see the wind farm and explore Lake Koombooloomba.
Herberton
Mining Centre
Once a thriving tin mining town, now a quiet,
relaxed village with fantastic museums, historic streetscapes,
and a well developed series of bushwalking tracks.
